I am now in my 7th decade and have learned many lessons about creating wealth (many of them hard lessons) along the way.
Still, I have been blessed with great success. This success did not happen by accident. Of course, there was some luck involved, but I mostly prospered because of great mentoring and coaching, powerful and effective support from others, asking for help at the right time from the right people, and seeking out training in how to make wise decisions.
About five years ago, just about the time the COVID-19 pandemic blew in, I saw many of my brick-and-mortar businesses deflate, and I had to shut down a few. I lost 80% of my income, and some of my businesses were hanging on “by a string”.
What was I to do?
I have been a serial entrepreneur for over 50 years. I’ve been up and down, and one thing I knew…”I wasn’t going to quit”.
Then, checking my Facebook daily, and watching videos on YouTube, I began to see advertisements about courses, trainings, and videos about something called Affiliate Marketing. This term was new to me, and I initially assumed it was some type of scam or some Multilevel marketing system. It wasn’t.
Affiliate Marketing was one of the greatest business opportunities I had ever encountered.
Let Me Give You The Basics Here.
Affiliate marketing is a performance-based online marketing strategy where businesses reward affiliates for driving traffic or sales to their website through the affiliate's marketing efforts. Essentially affiliates are people who sign up, usually for free, and get a special code that connects them to a specific product, service, or company.
In this model, affiliates earn a commission for each customer or lead acquired through their unique tracking links. These links are embedded in various promotional channels such as websites, social media, or email.
Let Me Repeat. Affiliate Marketing Is Not A Scam?
It’s just an old business model repurposed for the digital - Social Media Age. And a great business model it is!
Affiliate marketing benefits both merchants and affiliates. Merchants can expand their reach without incurring upfront marketing costs, while affiliates can monetize their online presence by promoting products or services relevant to their audience. The commission structure varies, with some programs offering fixed fees, while others provide a percentage of the sale.
Affiliate marketing relies on the concept of revenue sharing, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between merchants and affiliates. This model thrives on the affiliate's ability to attract and convert potential customers, making it a cost-effective way for businesses to increase sales. The tracking system ensures that affiliates receive proper credit for their contribution, making the process transparent and accountable for all parties involved in the affiliate marketing ecosystem.
So What is the Problem? There Really Is No Problem!
There is nothing inherently wrong with affiliate marketing, and it can be a legitimate way to earn money online. However, there are some potential drawbacks and pitfalls to be aware of. The 52-week course I am about to offer you here will address all of these.
1. You need to be patient. The money and wealth is definitely there. The goal here is develop a customer base. This requires either time, or money. Those who are impatient are destined to fail. One of my favorite quotes is “Everyone wants to go to heaven but no one wants to die to get there.” This quote perfectly describes the mindset of many who enter the affiliate marketing game but are neither ready, willing, or able to do it properly. In the end they either quit to early, go broke buying Facebook or Google ads, or burnout poorer, an more frustrated than when they started
2. Ethics and transparency: If you're not upfront and transparent about the fact that you're promoting products or services as an affiliate, you could be seen as dishonest or unethical.
3. Quality of products: As an affiliate marketer, you are promoting someone else's product or service, and you have no control over the quality or reliability of the products you are promoting.
4. Saturation: Affiliate marketing is a popular way to make money online, and many people are already doing it. This means that the market can become over saturated, making it difficult to stand out and make a profit.
5. Dependency on the affiliate program: If you rely too heavily on a particular affiliate program for your income, you run the risk of losing your income if the program is discontinued or if your account is suspended or terminated.
Here’s the Good News
Overall, affiliate marketing can be a viable way to make money online, but it's important to approach it with a clear understanding of the potential drawbacks and to be transparent with your audience about your affiliate relationships. In my experience, the only way to get this understanding is by getting some structured training and easily accessible mentoring and coaching.
It’s Usually Available For Very High Fee
All you need to do is type in on Google “What is affiliate marketing” and within 24 hours you will see pop-up ads for courses, funnels, challenges, summits, coaching and trainings, all related to Affiliate Marketing. They will be in your email, Facebook pages, and YouTube searches…. and they ain’t cheap!
$2,000, $10,000, $15,000, even $20,000. Then, once you have paid for the coaching, and training there are going to be monthly fees to pay for, ads, funnels, and advanced coaching. It will be an endless financial bleed. How did this all happen to you? It happened because you didn’t sign up for my $ 5-a-month course on Affiliate Marketing!
My Backstory
I was raised in the tough streets of the South Bronx in the 1950s and 1960s.
I had great parents and a strong system of mentors and positive peers, many of whom were pioneers in the formation of Hip Hop culture and are now billionaires.
I was always taught to stay out of trouble, and whenever possible, to bend, or even make up my own rules.
Today, I live a minimalist and simple life, have been happily married for over twenty-five years, and among my many great successes, I have had dozens of books published, and produced and hosted a radio show for close to a decade on an NPR-affiliated station. I spend much of my time helping billionaire philanthropists give away their money. I don’t charge for this service. I also create very low-cost, self-guided, online courses. Why Did I Create This Course on Affiliate Marketing Success?
I believe that it is extremely difficult to achieve financial success and economic freedom without the right information, and the proper guidance on how to use that information.
