On a personal note: Please excuse grammatical errors, typos, repetition, and any general nonsense, and such in this post. I am getting a bit older now, and I have about 20,000 pages of information that must get published before I leave the mortal coil. I simply write and publish more than my humble editors are able to correct. If you find enough errors you are welcome to contact me about being an editor of my work.

A 1 minute read
To begin with there are many different approaches to Taoism. Mystic Taoism is not a system of beliefs but an approach to seeing the world and living life. The goal of any spiritual seeker, then, if they wish to achieve any spiritual insight whatsoever, is to try to see the greater reality beyond the words and ideas.
However, too many people considering any particular religious tradition tend to get stuck in the words, ideas, rites, rituals, ceremonies, temples and churches, and dogma. There are certain groups that consider themselves Taoists that do this as there are Christians. The Mystic Taoist community has no limitations on what people do to know “Tao”. In fact the Anagram “WWJD” fits perfectly into the Mystic Taoist philosophy.
One of the limitations of religious fundamentalism is falsely believing that the reality is contained within the words, which to a true Christian, Muslim, Hindu etc. is not so.
A spiritually-aware person knows that any form of limited thinking is a mistake. There is always something and profound to discover once limited thinking is overcome.
There is one spiritual reality, though no one description of it is objectively superior, and none of us have any greater authority to describe it than another. We must explore, introspect and recognize that you can’t prove what is spiritual whether view from a Christian or a Taoist perspective. It is simply an unprovable matter.
If we were to accept and can comprehend the idea that, that there is one universe, and even a multiverse is merely segments within one “Universal” universe then our spiritual reality will go beyond our ability to comprehensively describe it. It makes sense that both Christianity and Taoism could be used to describe aspects of that spiritual reality.
The apparent conflict only comes into play when we become dogmatic and get stuck in the words and ideas instead of seeing beyond them to the greater spiritual reality.
So in short, you can believe that Jesus is your personal savior, and still be a Taoist, and you can be a Taoist, wondering what exactly is Tao, and you might find out if you become a Sage that Tao and Christ Consciousness are one!
