The foundation of strategic thinking
(HAGT) is an umbrella term describing thousands of strategies based on how humans compete in sports, play games, and solve puzzles.
· My initial interest in game theory was sparked by viewing the film A Beautiful Mind, about John Nash. As I explored his work, my knowledge of the subject expanded.
· My wife, Lilia, was an essential resource for my research. She would occasionally come across the phrases “game theory” or “game thinking” in a book or news story and tell me about them. It was through her that I was introduced to the ideas of many pioneering game theorists.
· I began to recognize the limits of the mathematical elements of game theory when applied to daily life. Here, I merged what I had learned from years as a shaman's apprentice with what I knew about game theory and gamer-thinking. In the service of that exploration, she reintroduced me to the writings of thought leaders such as Douglas Hofstadter and R. Buckminster Fuller.
· In the end, using ideas drawn from game theory, I became a life coach, professional problem solver, adviser, trouble-shooter, and speaker on game theory, pattern language, influence, power, and gamer-thinking.
