“This newsletter serves a demographic of highly intelligent readers, and deep thinkers with a passion for ideas, critical thinking, and a desire to understand the world around them. Readers of my posts are usually tired of being patronized elsewhere by fact-less, opinionated know-nothings, misinformation, conspiracy theories, and fake news.

On a personal note: Please excuse grammatical errors, typos, repetition, and any general nonsense, and such in this post. I am getting a bit older now, and I have about 20,000 pages of information that must get published before I leave the mortal coil. I simply write and publish more than my humble editors are able to correct. If you find enough errors you are welcome to contact me about being an editor of my work.

A 3 - Minute Read
Q. Lewis, Q. Lewis, I was recently reading about something called the King’s Choice, in relation to decision-making and making a correct decision. Can you tell me about what this term means?
A. The King’s Choices generally refers to one of two things.
The true story of three dramatic days in April 1940, where the King of Norway is presented with an unimaginable ultimatum from the German armed forces: surrender or die.
King's Choice is a role-playing game (RPG) game simulating life at the European medieval royal court. Here players strategize to become a legendary king and recruit famous generals, meet stunning beauties, raise heirs, suppress rebellions, and expand their empire with the ultimate goal of becoming the supreme emperor!
I often use this game as an educational tool for young people interested in learning about HAGT (Harrison’s Applied Game Theory, and Life Strategies.

Concerning your specific question, here is a simple 8 Step System for effective decision making from my Course and Mentoring Method
To begin with, let’s review the 8 steps in decision making of which you refer to
Step 1: Identification of the purpose of the decision.
Step 2: Information gathering.
Step 3: Principles for judging the alternatives.
Step 4: Brainstorm and analyze the different choices.
Step 5: Evaluation of alternatives.
Step 6: Select the best alternative.
Step 7: Execute the decision.
8. Evaluate the results and the outcome of your decision. See whether there is anything you should learn and then correct it in future decision-making.
Here’s the Challenge
#2 is always the biggest challenge in effective decision-making. Why? People are so emotional, and irrational when gathering information that they allow cognitive biases and logical fallacies, to focus on the wrong facts or choose fact facts that support their preconceived beliefs.
“So, what can't you take? Decide which of the two options is harder, and do the other. That way, no matter how hard your choice turns out to be, at least you can find comfort in knowing you're avoiding something even worse.”― Josephine Angelini, Starcrossed
The Takeaway
In order to use these 8 steps effectively, one must be a skilled critical thinker, who whenever possible uses deductive reasoning in gathering data, especially when buying a house. Critical thinking will enable you to review all decisions made, and analyze incident trends to better prepare for future events and introduce preventative measures.
